How To Spa: A Story
In most spa brochures, the final page features the spa’s “guidelines”—rules of conduct designed to ensure you get the most out of your treatment. In English-language brochures, this section is often titled “How to Spa.” It is a concept that perfectly encapsulates the message the establishment wishes to convey: how to relax—armed with the right tools and advice.
But how did this idea come about?
Whenever I welcome guests into my home, I have always loved making them feel at ease—creating a cozy, cocoon-like atmosphere where they feel “right at home.”
Through conversations with industry professionals and clients alike, I realized that there was a genuine need—a need felt by almost everyone—to recharge and rejuvenate at some point during their day or week.
My journey toward this understanding of well-being began with my initiation into my mother’s beauty rituals. Subsequently, my studies in cosmetic engineering and management—combined with my professional career and travels around the world—heightened my sensitivity to the scents and textures of cosmetic products.
However, the true turning point came during my training as a Spa Manager, which allowed me to grasp an essential concept that guides me every day: to care for others—and to possess the energy and drive to create and thrive—one must first take care of oneself.
How to Spa was created to enable you to relax in any situation. Whether you are at home, at work, or traveling, How to Spa offers expert guidance through tutorials and product recommendations.
The Founder
Maud Ganry Boutaric is the founder of the company How To Spa.
A cosmetic engineer by training, Maud spent four years working in the cosmetics industry within marketing departments, across both brands and agencies.
In April 2015, Maud decided to make a career transition into the spa sector. Her training as a Spa Manager provided her with all the operational tools and the professional network necessary to fulfill her lifelong ambition: to launch her own business.
