Traditionally the Tingsha or cymbals are used as an instrument of religious ritual in Tibetan Buddhism.£
The Tibetan Tingshas are very different from the cymbals that one meets from one culture to another.
Tingshas are also used as instruments of concentration in meditation, sound healing and traditional music.
A high-pitched sound signal can be created by the percussion of two cymbals together, thus the sound produced helps the mind to focus on the present tense.
The choice of cymbal size depends on the resonance of the desired sound.
In the shamanic tradition, the sound of cymbals helps to purify space.
Traditionally used by the Tibetan Lamas.
